To celebrate the return to our regular ministry schedules, we hold a “kick-off” Sunday. This is the first day of Sunday School, and the Christian Education volunteers are commissioned in worship. The 1st and 6th grade students receive new Bibles from the congregation, and we celebrate with a potluck dinner after Sunday School.
Rally Sunday is the first Sunday after Labor Day.
Join us for a special night with our church family at The Scarecrow Patch. The evening includes roasted weenies and s’mores for supper, a hayrack ride to the patch to choose a pumpkin, a petting zoo, and games and play for all ages.
This event is scheduled for Wednesday October 26 at 6 pm.
Celebrate the season of Advent in a meaningful way! We meet for a short lesson on the meaning of Advent, followed by a delicious breakfast and a craft project everyone can enjoy. Previous years’ projects have included Advent wreaths, Advent calendars, miniature Christmas trees and Advent find-it jars. Make yours as simple or as elaborate as you wish.
The first Sunday of Advent is November 27. Come to the fellowship hall at 10:30 AM for a great time of togetherness.
God’s Family Around the Table is for parents and preschool or elementary-age children. The three-part class focuses on the origin of the Jewish Passover Feast, the meaning of the Lord’s Supper, and helping prepare the elements for the Maundy Thursday service. Children are welcome to take communion at any time their parents feel they are ready, and this class will ensure that they are!
God’s Family Around the Table class is held during Lent.
Prepare your heart to celebrate the coming of Easter with us. We gather in the Fellowship Hall for a brunch and share a short lesson followed by an egg hunt in our beautiful backyard. This is a kid-friendly event that is fun for all ages!
The Easter Event is held on a Sunday during Lent, following the worship service.
We thank our ministry volunteers and honor our graduating high school seniors with a brunch after worship. The volunteers will be introduced and receive gifts, and the seniors will have photographs and displays set up for the congregation to enjoy. During worship the seniors also receive quilts handmade by our Sewing For Mission ladies.
The Celebration Brunch is held the first Sunday in May.
Our youth (grades 6-12) are an active part of First Presbyterian Church. This special worship service features videos from the summer mission trips and Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Afterwards we celebrate with a potluck picnic in the back yard.
Youth Sunday is held in August.
