Self-Guided Tour: 13 Fellowship Hall

You could argue that more memories have been made here in our Fellowship Hall than in any other room of the church.

Eagle Scout ceremonies, preschool circuses, potlucks and congregational meetings, graduation and wedding receptions, all manner of fund raising events, Red Cross blood drives, pickle ball games and Project Hunger’s Easter Basket Extravaganza—they all happen right here in this flexible space with its adjoining kitchen.

Twice in living memory, these spaces have served as the designated Red Cross feeding station for the whole Grand Island community as it coped with natural disasters.

Since 2003, our Youth on Wednesdays program has supercharged the room weekly during the school year, and it’s at the center of our summer VBS adventures.

All of that activity had the room looking pretty “well-used,” so in 2013 it was renovated to include lockable storage for our sewing and quilting circles, new, round dining tables and a soundproof partition between Fellowship Hall and the Parlor.

Take a purposeful look at the Boy Scout wall in the northwest corner. It celebrates the accomplishments of 149 Eagle Scouts and their leaders over the proud span of more than ninety years that Troop 119 has been chartered by the Pres.
